“Remember that I have dealt face to face with misery, pain, and death and these have not succumbed my soul for I live to diminish these sufferings of humanity. Although I cannot erradicate them, the evil one must acknowledge in me an eternal rival who will not lower his sword of justice, even if these three opponents would confront me simultaneously.”

Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet

Statement written by Dr. Oscar E. Biscet in a personal letter handed to his wife, Elsa Morejón, on August 29, 2000 by a guard at the maximum security prison”Cuba Sí” Prison in  Holguín Province in Cuba.

“Greetings to all those who support me in the cause of seeking freedom for all

human beings, particularly, Cubans.

I am well in this abode of pain as light that shines in the dark waiting on

our Lord Yaweh who never lies.

I ask God to bless all His servants, and that they have faith in Him.

Salvation is near.

In God we trust.

Best wishes to everyone.

Always a friend who will not forget you, “

“The difficulties are increasing. Now they want to force me to wear the prison’s uniform, but with God’s help, they will never be able to force me to do that. Do not be scared, it won’t be long now for this evil to be over. Resist until the end in the path of God and God will give you joy as He did for Esther and Ruth, and I will wait like Job.”
