Invitación a Foro en el Día Internacional de los DDHH: Informe sobre las violaciones a los DDHH Venezuela 2014
26 de Noviembre de 2014.-Venezuela Awareness.-Con motivo de conmemorarse el Día Internacional de los Derechos Humanos como se estableció en la Asamblea General de la ONU el 10 de Diciembre de 1950, dos años después de aprobarse la Declaración de los Derechos Humanos por la Asamblea General en 1948, Venezuela Awareness extiende la invitación para el Foro donde leeremos el Informe de Violaciones a los Derechos Humanos en Venezuela en el 2014.
Dos de las víctimas de las violaciones a los derechos humanos durante las protestas estudiantiles en Venezuela en este 2014, presentarán sus testimonios donde se presentarán como parte de la presentación del informe de los caídos o asesinados, torturados y encarcelados por ejercer el legítimo derecho a la protesta consagrada en la Constitución venezolana:
1.-María Eugenia Tovar, madre de la reina de belleza Génesis Carmona Tovar, de 21 años, quienes el 19 de Febrero de 2014 participaban en una marcha pacífica en la ciudad de Valencia, estado Carabobo, cuando grupos oficialistas armados conocidos como “los colectivos”, en las cercanías del lugar, dispararon a los manifestantes asesinando a Génesis al recibir un tiro en la cabeza.
2.-Sebastian Rodríguez, estudiante de 18 años quien participaba en las protestas pacíficas estudiantiles en la ciudad de Barquisimeto donde fue detenido el 13 de Febrero del 2014. A la llegada de la Guardia Nacional, el grupo de estudiantes corrió tratando de escapar, algunos que no pudieron como Sebastian y fueron golpeados, arrastrados y encarcelados sufriendo torturas físicas y psicológicas.
3.-Martin Palous hará un análisis de las violaciones a los derechos hunamos durante las protestas estudiantiles en Venezuela. Martín Palous es un diplomático checo y educador y era un antiguo disidente en la Checoslovaquia comunista. Él sirvió como el embajador checo en los Estados Unidos desde 2001 hasta 2005 y Representante Permanente de la República Checa ante las Naciones Unidas de 2006 a 2011. El Dr. Palous fue uno de los primeros firmantes de la Carta 77 y uno de los fundadores del Foro Cívico. En 2011 y 2012, fue Director de la Biblioteca Vaclav Havel en Praga. Hoy es presidente de la Fundación Biblioteca Vaclav Havel en Nueva York, Senior Fellow en la Universidad Internacional de Florida en Miami, y el presidente de la Plataforma Internacional para los Derechos Humanos en Cuba.

Invitation to Forum on International Day of Human Rights: Report on Human Rights violations Venezuela 2014
Venezuela Awareness.- To commemorate International Human Rights Day as stated in the General Assembly of the UN on December 10, 1950, two years after the adoption of the Declaration of Human Rights by the General Assembly in 1948, Venezuela Awareness extends invitation to the Forum where we will read the Report of Violations of Human Rights in Venezuela in 2014.
Two of the victims of human rights violations during the student protests in Venezuela in the 2014, where they presented their testimonies presented as part of the report of the fallen or murdered, were tortured and imprisoned for exercising their legitimate and given right to participate in the Venezuelan Constitution protest:
- María Eugenia Tovar, mother of the beauty pageant winner Genesis Carmona. María and her daughter, Genesis, were participating in a peaceful march in Valencia, Carabobo State on February 19, 2014 when pro-government armed groups known as “collective” fired at the demonstrators, killing Genesis with a shot to the head.
2.-Sebastian Rodriguez, an 18 year old student who participated in peaceful student protests in the city of Barquisimeto. Sebastian was arrested on February 13, 2014 during one of the peaceful protests. Upon the arrival of the National Guard, the protesting students tried to escape. Those that couldn’t, including Sebastian, were imprisoned and then subjected to physical and psychological torture.
- Martin Palouse will analyze the human rights violations during the student protests in Venezuela. Martin Palous is a Czech diplomat and educator, and was a former dissident in Communist Czechoslovakia. He served as the Czech Ambassador to the United States from 2001 to 2005 and the Czech Republic’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2006 to 2011. Dr. Palous was one of the first signers of Charter 77 and a founder of the Civic Forum. In 2011 and 2012, he was Director of the Vaclav Havel Library in Prague. Today, he is President of the Vaclav Havel Library Foundation in New York, Senior Fellow at Florida International University in Miami, and President of the International Platform for Human Rights in Cuba.
